Frank's notes:
Thanks to the hook up from his Uncle Carl, Anthony was able to attend the Jay-Z concert on Nov. 19 V.I.P style. At the concert he ran into a familiar foe on the basketball court. >>> With the season having started with Whitney Young, despite being undefeated, Anthony and his teammates miss the presence of their center, Dwayne Curtis. Curtis has not played yet this season in an attempt to raise his G.P.A.

I'm back for another week of my Player Journal! Things have been going great and it can only gets better. It seem like it's been a long time since I've talked with you all so I'm real excited about this one.

On Nov. 19 Jay-Z was in town for his album debut, and he had a concert at Park West up North. Of course I went because I missed out on his last concert, so I had to make this one. I sat back in V.I.P and witnessed one of the most hyped performances ever. It was worth my time, no doubt. Afterwards I went back to Jay-Z's hotel room and got a chance meet and kick it with him. It was another great experience to me. Not to mention that Proviso East shooting guard Shannon Brown was there to, so we did a lot of talking about basketball. We had a conversation about the time we played against each other, which was this summer at the And1 Tournament at Notre Dame.

Shannon was being real modest when Jigga asked him questions, but we ended up spitting out how we both had about 40 points and how Shannon walked away with the win. He gave us some real good knowledge about making it and pushing each other and that was the night.

On Nov. 25 we started our season off in the Niles West Thanksgiving Tournament against CVS (Chicago Vocational School). We breezed past CVS almost winning by 50 points and scoring 100 points as a team. Four players finished in double figures including myself. The other players were Andre Knox, Dewitt Scott and Laird Walker. I finished with a quiet 26 points, nine assists and five steals.

On Tuesday we beat Notre Dame to play for the championship on Wednesday against New Trier who won the tournament the past five years or so. I finished the Notre Dame game with 29 points, seven assists and four steals. On Wednesday the game was a little difficult and we started off slow. But in the end we came out victorious.

Dewitt Scott lit New Trier up the whole game, finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds. He opened the game up when we went to a two-man game, because every time they double teamed me he was there for the kick and knock down. I believe when they did that they had to play honest defense and that opened up the game for everyone. I finished with 22 points and tailed 12 assists. Like I said before, we have the best group of juniors in the state. Watch out for Chris Hicks, Marcellous Gross, Laird Walker, and Sterling Williams. They are a big part of our team's success. We won the championship and Dewitt and I were named to the all-tournament team. I was pretty mad they didn't issue an MVP but it's cool, I have to move on!

My Thanksgiving was cool. The only thing I did was visit relatives all day. I tried to workout in the mourning but my cousin Cardon came and was acting a fool so I didn't finish my workout.

Friday I went to watch my old high school Hales [Franciscan] and friend, Jerod Haynes, play Bogan, and Hales won. Later that night I went to check out the Proviso East vs. Evanston game and East pulled the close one out, winning the championship. On Saturday I went to see Hales play again for the championship game against St. Rita. They outplayed Rita and ended up winning. Jerod Haynes was rewarded the MVP of the tournament.

Now things are on hold because of our schedule -- the next game is in two weeks or so. So we have to keep working hard every day in practice so we don't lose focus. Of course I still workout everyday, and not to mention I worked out after every game during the Thanksgiving Tournament.

PS I wanted to state that the entire team really misses Dwayne's present from the team. I wish he could be with us, but in his case, and ours, grades come first. When he does decide to come back we will be unstoppable.

So until next time ... I'm Gone!
THREE TIMES TOO THE CHEST!
